To ensure your preferred paragraph styles meet the new ADA requirements (font type, font size, bold text etc.) you can format your default styles for every new Google Doc you create.

  1. Open a new Google Doc.
  2. Click the fonts drop down and select More fonts.


  1. Scroll down to “Nunito Sans” and check the box.
  2. Click Done
  3. Type the following in your blank doc:

Normal text
Heading 1
Heading 2
Heading 3
Heading 4
Heading 5
Heading 6

6. Highlight each line separately and format each as follows:

Normal Text select the Nunito Sans Normal, font size 12

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Normal text, hover over Normal text and click Update ‘Normal text’ to match

Heading 1 is Nunito sans Bold, size 28

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Normal text, hover over Heading 1 and click Update ‘Heading 1’ to match

Heading 2 is Nunito Sans Bold, font size 24

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Heading 2, hover over Heading 2 and click Update ‘Heading 2’ to match

Heading 3 is Nunito Sans Bold, font size 20

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Heading 3, hover over Heading 3 and click Update ‘Heading 3’ to match

Heading 4 is Nunito Sans Medium, font size 16

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Heading 4, hover over Heading 4 and click Update ‘Heading 4’ to match

Heading 5 is Nunito Sans Semi Bold, font size 12

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Heading 5, hover over Heading 5 and click Update ‘Heading 5’ to match

Heading 6 is Nunito Sans Bold, font size 12

  • Once set, click the dropdown for Heading 6, hover over Heading 6 and click Update ‘Heading 6’ to match

 

  1. Once all styles are updated in the document, go back to the Format menu, hover over Paragraph styles, and select Options.
  2. Click Save as my default styles.

All new Google Docs you create will now use these styles by default.
