Share a Connect Calendar with Non-Connect Accounts Viewed in Outlook

You can allow others who are not using Connect Calendar to view your calendar. First, make your calendar public and choose whether to share only your free/busy information or all event details. Once it's public, create a Calendar Address that others can use to view your calendar in another iCal-compliant application like Outlook.

To make a calendar public, configure its Sharing settings:

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. In the top right, click the gear icon settings gear button then select Settings.
  3. Open the Calendars tab.
  4. Click the name of the calendar you want to share.
  5. Open the Share this Calendar tab.
  6. Check the option Make this calendar public
  7. If you don't want other people to view the details of your events, select See only free/busy (hide details).
  8. Click Save.

After you've shared your calendar, create the Calendar Address that allows the calendar to be viewed in applications like Outlook or Apple Calendar:

  1. Open Google Calendar.
  2. In the top right, click Settings settings gear button > Settings.
  3. Open the Calendars tab.
  4. Click the name of the calendar you want to share.
  5. In the Calendar Address section, click the ICAL button.
  6. A window with your calendar's public web address will appear. Copy this link to share your calendar with those using any calendar application that supports the iCal format.
  7. Click OK.
  8. Email the .ics file to the person(s) you want to share it with.

The recipient of the .ics Calendar Address file can import it into Outlook:

       1. In Outlook, click on the link in the email.
       2. In the next window, click Open with Outlook, and click OK.
       3. The shared calendar will open in Outlook's "Other Calendars" section as a separate (not overlaid) calendar. It will update about every 4 hours.
